A World War II veteran, Arnold W. Phegley, of 5407 SE Bybee St., died Sunday at his home as a result of diabetic complications.
He was born July 13, 1913, in Lone Rock, Ore., and came to Portland in 1944. He was self employed as a cement finisher and was a member of Cement Masons Local No. 555.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; his sons, Clarence W. Stanfill, of Fayetteville, N.C.\' Richard L. Stanfill, of North Plains, Ore.; Thomas L. Stanfill, of Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane, Wash.; and Floyd C. Stanfill, of Eugene, Ore.\' his daughters, Mrs. Esther Heaton, and Mrs. Edith Adair, all of Portland; his brothers, Wesley, Orville, and Marvin, all of Portland, and 25 grandchildren.
Funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Holman\'s Funeral Service with interment in Willamette National Cemetery. |
