Lincoln City ? William Clarence Bill Stanfill, 80, died Sunday in his home.
He was born in Portland. He served in the Navy from 1931 to 1933, on the USS Nevada and the USS Oglala.
He lived in Bend, Redmond and Sisters for 20 years before moving to Medford in 1963. He owned and operated the West Side Tavern in Bend and the Sisters Cafe in Sisters. While living in Medford, he owned and operated a Ford agency in White City.
In 1968 he moved to Lincoln City. he was a real estate broker and operated Stanfill Realty and Stanfill Investment for several years.
He was a 46-year member of the Elks.
In February 1963 he married La Raine Wirfs in Redmond; she died in April 1992. He then married Sally Schaffer in September 1992.
Survivors include his wife; son, Bill Jr. of Portland; daughter, Syliva Warren of Madras; brothers, Willis, Bob and Francis, all of Portland; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday in Lincoln City Elks Lodge No. 1886. Arrangements are by Pacific View mortuary.
