• Notes

  6 of Vincent and Phebe Tidwell's children served the Confederacy. Jane Eveline Tidwell would have been abt 18 at the time of the 1840 census, and she is not reflected in the household. It is my guess that she may have already married William Tacker. I have written to the Tennessee State Library and Archives to ask them to check the published record of TN marriages prior to 1861, which they will do with no fee. [7]
