"Mrs. Angie Castle, 68, wife of Ambrose Castle of Thealka, died in a local hospital at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, January 4, following a brief illness. The daughter of the late William and Arminta George Burke, she was born July 19, 1893, in Floyd County. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Also surviving are a brother, Walker Burk, Concord, and a half brother, Willie May, city. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church with Ellis Hamilton and Don Fraley as officiating ministers. Burial was in the family cemetery at Lowmansville."

"Walter W. Burke, 76, of Thealka, died Monday, January 17 in a local hospital following an extended illness. He was a retired carpenter and was affiliated with the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late William and Arminta George Burke.
Immediate survivors include his wife, Vivian Welch Burke, one son, Elmer G. Burke of Seattle, Washington, two daughters, Mary K. Coleman
of Dayton, Ohio, and Francis H. Thacker of Paintsville.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 pm. Wednesday, January 19 at the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church by Don Fraley, Ellis Hamilton, and C.C. Hall.
Burial followed in the Welch Cemetery at Concord under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home."
