  "S. E. Adams Passed Away Suddenly Wednesday S. E. Adams, 72, who had been in the real estate business here for 48 years, died at his home Wednesday at 12:15. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. W. C. Williams of Fordyce; two brothers, B. F. of Pine Bluff and S. W. Adams of Fordyce, and a sister, Miss Birdie Adams of Fordyce. While in early census he is seen as Elias S. (1870 and 1880 with his family), he is seen in 1900 as Elias Adams.

He was married in 1910 as "S. E. Adams" and is seen is later census as "Stephen E. Adams." His obituary in the Fordyce newspaper, 1936, names him "S. E. Adams," but confirms his identity by listing his siblings.
