Harriet's son Robert Franklin Walker's 1957 death certificate names his father as Anthony Green Walker and his mother as Harriet Friend. No Missouri marriage has been located for a Harriet "Friend."

Harriet appears in the 1870 Gentry County census as Harriet Bogue with three children of the same surname, presumably a widow. No Missouri marriage has been located for a female "Harriet" and male surname "Bogue." She was probably widowed after 1868.

In the 1870 census, she is enumerated just prior to the Elbert Best and John W. Best families.

Died:

Harriet's cause of death was "milk leg," an inflammation of the femoral vein, usually occurring after childbirth. The death register recorded her date of death as 12 June 1884, a one-day difference from the date cited in Anthony's obituary.

"Phetney" is listed as Anthony's 1-year-old daughter in the 1880 census. In the 1900 census, his daughter "Toba" is listed, born in August 1878. It is more than likely that Phetney and Toba were the same individual.

Birth:

It is likely that Charles was actually born on 5 October 1886, and that he was a twin. Mary E. "Bogure" and Edward W. Walker had twins on that date in Gentry County. The 1900 census offers a birth date for Charles of September 1886, and they could not have had children on both dates. Either the 1900 census or the recorded birth record is in error.

Birth:

The 1900 census reports James's birth date as September 1888. However, Edward Walker and Mary Bogue were recorded in Gentry County with a male birth on 26 October 1888. The latter is the more likely date, since it was reported just five days later on 1 November 1888--and the census birth data may have been provided by his step-mother.
