    Notes:

Nothing further is known of Henry Walker.

    Name:
In the 1850 enumeration "Aaron." In the 1860 enumeration "Henry."

    Census:
This is almost certainly the son of Aaron and Nancy (Best) Walker
    • The age of this Henry Walker is 21, precisely matching the age of Aaron's son Henry in the 1860 census (11)
    • This Henry is found in the entry directly following the Aaron Walker household

It is likely that Henry and Ann were recently married, based on her age and the absence of children in the household. They were probably married between 1868?1870. However, no likely marriage record has been located, to date.

    Possible Census:
Indicators that this might be the son of Aaron and Nancy (Best) Walker
    • Henry, age 11, born abt 1849, appears in the Aaron Walker home in 1860; he also appears, age 21, in the household next to Aaron Walker in 1870. This Henry Walker calculates to a birth year of 1850, a close approximation.
    • This Henry Walker reports a father born in Kentucky and a mother born in Tennessee, matching the birthplaces of Aaron and Nancy (Best) Walker.

    Conflicting:
    • In the 1870 census, Henry Walker was married to "Ann," born abt 1854, Illinois (no marriage record located), while this Henry is married to "Mary E." born about 1859. An 1873 St. Louis marriage record has been located for Henry F. Walker to Mary E. Mur, both of Macoupin County. Could Henry's first wife have died between 1870 and 1873, and he remarried?

  6. 7.  William WalkerWilliam Walker Descendancy chart to this point (1.Nancy1) was born about 1851 in Macoupin County, Illinois, USA; died after 1900.

    Notes:

William is last seen in his family home in 1870. A William D. Walker married Louisa Page on 29 December 1870; this is possibly the same person.

Additionally, a database on Ancestry.com indicates that William married Louisa Page, and they had one son, Charles J. Page, born 16 December 1873, died 10 December 1928, Mariposa County, California. The same file indicates that Charles was married to Stella May Hesse.

Information entered here after William's residence in his family home is speculation. IF the Louise Page wife is correct, THEN this may be the right William Walker. Ongoing research in gathering death certs, etc, will allow better evaluation.

    Died:
William's last known child, William, was born in 1890 in California (Bessie may have been born later, but her birth date is not known). In the 1900 census his wife Louisa (Page) was was enumerated as married; in the 1910 census she was eumerated as a widow. This could indicate that William was still living as late as 1900 and they were divorced after that date. It is equally possible that Louise did not know where William was and chose to characterize herself first as married and later as divorced.

William married Louisa Page on 29 Dec 1870 in Macoupin County, Illinois, USA, and was divorced before 1910. Louisa was born in Nov 1851 in Arkansas, USA; died on 17 Aug 1911 in Mariposa County, California, USA; was buried in White Rock Cemetery, Mariposa County, California, USA. Notes:

Lavina was listed among her father's living heirs in March 1880, at which time she was probably still single; the list of heirs included married names for the elder sisters.

  10. 11.  Julius Ephraim WalkerJulius Ephraim Walker Descendancy chart to this point (1.Nancy1) was born about 1864 in Macoupin County, Illinois, USA; died after 1880.

    Other Events:

    • Alt. Name:
Possibly Julius Ephraim. He was listed as "Julius E.," male, age 15, in the 1880 census with his widowed mother--though he was recorded as "daughter."

    Notes:

    Name:
It is possible that there were sons Julius E. and Ephraim, one of whom died young.

However, "Ephraim" appears age 6 in 1870 in the family home, "Julius E." appears age 15 in 1880 with his widowed mother, and "Julius E." is listed as a living heir of Aaron Walker in March 1880.

It is more than likely that Julius E. and Ephraim were the same individual.

    Notes:

The 1911 obituary/death notice of Louisa (Page) Walker stated that she had a daughter "Mrs. R. C. Nelson" of Colfax--presumably Colfax in nearby Placer County, California.

The 1923 obituary/death notice of Aaron Walker named known siblings, plus a sister, "Bella Bliss" of North Fork--presumably North Fork, Madera County, California.

A Bella Bliss is found in 1920 census with husband Mose Bliss. This Bella Bliss was born about 1882 in California. It seems unlikely that William and Louisa (Page) Walker would have had a child born in California in 1882, since they had known daughter Gertrude about 1883 in Illinois; and known sons George and Aaron in 1884 and 1887, respectively, both in Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma).

No R. C. Nelson has been located in the 1910 Placer County census.

No California marriage record has been located for Bella Walker or Bella Nelson.

Report on the death of Aaron Walker, Mariposa (California) Gazette AARON WALKER INSTANTLY KILLED WHILE AT WORK Aaron WALKER of North Fork, an employee of the Minarets and Western railroad, was accidentally killed late yesterday afternoon at Central Camp when a switching train supposedly backed into him and inflicted internal injuries from which he evidently died instantly. WALKER was a brakeman and had been employed with the company for the past nine years. There were no eye witnesses to the tragedy, as he was signaling to the train that is presumed to have struck him. One signal to go backward had been answered by the engineer and it was the continued wait for a second signal that caused the men to investigate. He was found dead by the track. Mr. WALKER is survived by his wife, Alaska May WALKER, with whom he lived at North Fork, three sisters, Mrs. Bessie DOWNING of San Francisco, Mrs. Gertrude MASON and Mrs. Bella BLISS both of North Fork, and three brothers, George and Charles WALKER of Mariposa and William WALKER of North Fork. Internment will be made at North Fork.- Madera Tribune, Oct. 13.

  29. 41.  Bessie WalkerBessie Walker Descendancy chart to this point (7.William2, 1.Nancy1)

    Notes:

The obituary/death notice of Louisa (Page) Walker, 1911, Mariposa County, California, listed among her children "Mrs. Bessie Downie" of Vancouver, but did not indicate whether Vancouver, Washington, or Vancouver, Canada.

The 1923 obituary/death notice of Aaron M. Walker named his surviving siblings, among them a "Mrs. Bessie Downing" of San Francisco.

A Bessie Walker married A. S. Deatsch in Merced County on 10 July 1898. The groom was from White Rock, Mariposa County, and the bride was from Mariposa. This couple has not been located in the 1900 census, nor can a marriage record be found for them among the California marriages on FamilySearch. The obituary of Sebastian Fabian Deatsch of White Rock appears on the same family page, and identifies a son "Albert S. Deatsch," who may be the A. S. referenced above. Albert S. Deatsch is found in the 1900 Merced County census, but he enumerated as single, a boarder in the home of a family named Burchell.
