      "Wells Elmer L. Wells, 87 of Mountain View, Missouri, died Saturday, May 12, 2001 at St. Francis Hospital, Mountain View. Elmer was born November 9, 1913 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Charles M. and Margaret Thomas Wells. he married Mary Walker in Oakland, California in 1938 and to this union two daughters were born. Elmer and Mary would have been married 63 years on May 21. Elmer was employed by Smith Flooring for forty years as a timber buyer. he was a Christian family man who had served as Deacon in various churches for over fifty years. He was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain View he was a fisherman and also loved to play pool. Survivors include his wife, Mary; tow daughters, Lexie Thorn of Pensacola, Florida and Patti Potter of Winterville, Georgia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four nieces, Thelma Allen, Maxine Chamberlin, Shirley Abbey and Lola Walker and one nephew, Herbert Gulley. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Charles; one sister, Vera; one great grandchild and one nephew, Charles Gulley. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Mary 14, 2001 at the First Baptist Church, Mountain View. Interment was at Walker Chapel Cemetery, Trask, Missouri under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View."
