Email sent to Linda Clark Korenek (queenlilliebee@gmail.com)
"Hi, Linda, I have gone through my more than 40 kits to find those that match you, and have had some interesting results (color-coded by sibling of descent): Elmer L. Best (Samuel Allen Walker line), 53 total cMs, longest segment 33 cMs, 10 segments; he is your 5th cousin once removed, but the amount of cMs indicates more like 3rd cousin, or 2nd cousin twice removed. However, this is probably accounted for by the fact that Elmer comes down from Samuel Walker in two different lines, so he got a double shot of Walker DNA. Luanna Leisure (Elizabeth Walker & James Hartley line), 41 total cMs, longest segment 16 cMs, 9 segments; she is your 5th cousin, but number of shared cMs indicates more like 3rd. James Ethmer Lynch (Elizabeth Walker & James Hartley line), 64 total cMs, 19 longest segment, 13 segments; also 5th cousin, he and Luanna Leisure are siblings. He shares even a little more with you than she does, reflecting more like 3rd cousin. Gerald Hartley (Elizabeth Walker & James Hartley line), 56 cMs total, 37 cMs longest segment, 11 segments; he is your 4th cousin, once removed. The number of cMs tend to suggest 3rd cousin. Ernest Dale Walker (Jacob Walker line), 91 cMs total, 24 cMs longest segment, 18 segments; he is your 2nd cousin 1x removed; your match to him is right in line with that. Edward L. Walker (Jacob Walker line), 106 cMs total, 43 cMs longest segment, 9 segments; he is your 4th cousin, and yet the number of shared cMs suggests 2nd cousin Rufus Ray Clark, Jr. (Jacob Walker, first cousin?), 878 cMs total, 81 cMs longest segment, 42 segments; you are (if I am right) the first cousin of Rufus Ray Clark, Jr. The degree of you match suggests exactly that relationship. Bonnie L. Compton (Elijah Walker & first wife Matilda King line), 84 cMs total, 54 longest, 13 segments; Bonnie (who recently died) was your 4th cousin 1x removed. The amount of share cMs suggest more like 2nd-3rd cousin. Leon Walker (Elijah Walker & first wife Matilda King line), 53 cMs total, 31 cMs longest, 12 segments; Leon is also your 4th cousin 1x removed. Your shared DNA suggests more like 2nd-3rd cousins Paul Walker (Elijah Walker & first wife Matilda King line), 60 cMs total, 31 cMs longest, 14 segments; is also your 4th cousin 1x removed. Your shared DNA suggests more like 2nd-3rd cousins You reflected no matches with: Mary ?Polly? Walker and George Brazzell line (however, we have only 2 tests on this line, and I only have access to one of those?haven?t found out about the other yet) Joseph H. Walker & Mary Gage line (several tests and was able to check all but one; this line is the most tenuous as a proposed sibling) George H. Walker line (only have two tests, and they are siblings) It?s hard to know exactly how to interpret these results. The fact that the number of cMs you share with many of these Walker descendants tends to suggest that you share more than one ancestor with us?possibly the Walker line of Ola Belle Walker and her father goes back to the same family, as you mentioned. I did a little research on it and see no clear path, but that doesn?t really mean much when you get back that far. If you would like to log on and check your account for matches to these individuals, whose accounts I cannot access, I would love to know the total number of cMs of the match, and the longest segment. The number of segments (which you can find if you compare with them on the chromosome browser) would also be nice! Samuel Allen Walker line Lee Lallier Stephen Edward Belter Roy Andrew Seaton, II Mary ?Polly? (Walker) Brazzel linel Wilson Glenn Hatcher Jacob Walker line Rayna Moore Jon Bjorkman Joseph H. Walker line Dana Sue Tilley Elijah Walker line Richard Hubbard Best, Janis"
