Child of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Woods [sic], of near Macedonia.

MACEDONIA, Ia., Sept. 28.-- The funeral serivces [sic] will be held at Minden today of 22-months-old Baby Woods, who was run over and killed by an automobile driven by his uncle at the Joe Woods home four and a half miles west of Macedonia Saturday.
The accident happened when Otis Woods [sic], about 19 years old, brother of Joe Woods [sic], father of the child, was backing a car through the barn-yard. The child had wandered from the house, unknown to the uncle. The machine passed over the little boy, crushing his side. He lived but a few hours. The entire family is stricken with grief as a result of the accident.
The Woods [sic] family live on what is known as the John Rainbow farm, opposite Lone Star Christian church. Mrs. Woods [sic] is a neice [sic] of Henry Brandeis, former state representative from this county."

He was born in Macedonia, Iowa, on May 22, 1922, to Joe and Evelyn Mauer Wood. Keith was working at a CCC Camp and enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1942 and served his country during WWII until 1945. During that time, Keith served in the South Pacific and never had a day of leave. After returning from the service, he was united in marriage to Loretta Oswald on January 17th, 1946, at Saint John Lutheran Church. Keith worked for Iowa Power and Light for 20 years and later served as the Director of the Physical Plant at Iowa Western Community College for over 20 years. Keith is a member of Saint John Lutheran Church and served in various volunteer capacities, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, Tangier Shriner, Lions Club member and was a competitive roller skater. He also enjoyed playing the organ and spending time with his family.
Keith is preceded in death by three brothers; parents; and sister, Joan Brisso. Survivors include wife, Loretta; daughter, Carol Wood; sons, David Wood and wife, Pamela, Tom Wood, all of Council Bluffs, Robert Wood and wife, Katy, of Onalaska, Wis.; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Crist, of Stanwood, Iowa, Shirley Hudson, of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers, Dean Wood and wife, Katie, Chuck Wood and wife, Donna, all of Council Bluffs, Richard Wood and wife, Colleen, of Meridian, Idaho; nieces and nephews.

"In Memory of Jean Evelyn (Wood) Crist, Age 93, from Stanwood Iowa and living at Cedar Manor Nursing home in Tipton passed away Tuesday February 26th, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City surrounded by family. Visitation is from 9:30 ? 11:00 am followed by the funeral service on Tuesday, March 5th at the Stanwood Union Church. Burial will immediately follow at the Stanwood Cemetery.
Jean was born March 20th, 1925 in a Western Iowa farm house in Macedonia and married Clifford Crist on December 12, 1948 at the First Christian Church in Council Bluffs Iowa; Cliff passed on August 31st, 2011. While Clifford farmed and sold insurance, Jean kept the farmhouse running smoothly. She made meals for the farmhands and her specialty ? seasonal fruit pies. When it came time to raise little piggy?s, Jean was right there to make sure each one was vaccinated and in good health.
Jean wrote and played songs on the organ. She also was a member of Quadratones who sang at local events and churches. She also enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adalines in Cedar Rapids. She did various types of artwork, was a member of the Stanwood Women?s club, bowled in a women?s league and operated Jean?s Photo Boutique where she took professional photos. Cliff and Jean enjoyed going to school sporting events, being involved in community activities, and traveling.
All children and animals loved Jean. She had a smile and a gentle way with all creatures and people she met. She loved to laugh and was always welcoming. She cared for all and could not stand to see any of god?s creatures suffer.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Jolley and Evelyn (Mauer) Wood and Brother Keith (Loretta) Wood; Sisters: Shirley Wood and Joan (Rodger) Brisso and her husband Clifford of 63 years. Four died as babies: Brothers: Kenneth and twins Leslie and Wesley; Grandson: Alexander
Jean is survived by her Sons: Randy (Catherine) and Grayland (Kathy); Grandchildren: David (Allison), Sarah-Elizabeth, Josh (Kristi), Stacy (Ty), Kayla, Mike, Coby (Christina), Kylie, Lexi and Davonte and 14 Great-grandchildren; and her brothers: Charles (Donna) Wood, Richard (Colleen) Wood and Dean (Katie) Wood;
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tipton Senior Center or Friends of the Animals in Tipton."
