    Notes:

    Died:
Elbert Best, Angelica's husband, was enumerated in 1880 as a widower, with a two-year-old son, suggesting that Angelica may have died in childbirth in 1878. In conflict with this, numerous unsourced internet sources offer a death year for Angelica of 1874. Supporting her earlier death, Stephen Best's 1954 death certificate states that his parents were Elbert Best and Ruth Davis, and he was born on 25 October 1877. No Missouri or Illinois marriage record has been located for Elbert Best and Ruth Davis, but it is likely that Angelica died prior to 1877, possibly in 1874, as purported, and that Elbert had a brief marriage or liaison with a Ruth Davis, resulting in the birth of Stephen L. Best.

A specific death date of 31 March 1874 is offered by the Norma Jeane Bell family group sheet. this fits with known evidence.

Angelica married Elbert Best on 6 Oct 1856 in Macoupin County, Illinois, USA. Elbert was born about 1836 in Illinois, USA; died after 1880. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
