- Correspondence between DeBoard family members during that period indicate that Aley and Link Jenkins had a stormy relationship. It clearly did not survive for very long. Their great grandaughter, Libby Stalter, cites a family story that Link became involved with a 17-year-old girl in West Plains. He is said to have "run off" with the girl in 1898, and were ever heard from again, even by her family. [4]
