"Walter W. Burke, 76, of Thealka, died Monday, January 17 in a local hospital following an extended illness. He was a retired carpenter and was affiliated with the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late William and Arminta George Burke.
Immediate survivors include his wife, Vivian Welch Burke, one son, Elmer G. Burke of Seattle, Washington, two daughters, Mary K. Coleman
of Dayton, Ohio, and Francis H. Thacker of Paintsville.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 pm. Wednesday, January 19 at the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church by Don Fraley, Ellis Hamilton, and C.C. Hall.
Burial followed in the Welch Cemetery at Concord under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home." |
