      Warren Franklin DeBoard
      Warren Franklin DeBoard was born November 24, 1913, in Howell County, Missouri, to Lewis and Phronia Thomas DeBoard. He died December 27, 2004, in Mountain View, Missouri, at the age of 91 years. He received his high school education at School of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, and graduated in 1933. After military service, Warren attended the Kansas City School of Pharmacy in Kansas City, Missouri, where he graduated in 1950. He was united in marriage to Doris Christine Penninger on August 2, 1941, in Hannibal, Missouri, and to this union two children were born, James Warren and Susan Ellen. Warren served his country in the U.S. Army as a Technical Sergeant and Combat Medic in the 301st Medical Detachment, 94th Infantry Division from December 2, 1942, until January 5, 1946. He was awarded four bronze stars and a good conduct medal. He was a member of the Howell County School Board, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and HOST Shrine Club. He was a longtime member of The First Presbyterian Church in Mountain View, Missouri. Warren also served as a Republican Committeeman for Goldberry Township and on the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy. Warren owned and operated DeBoard Drug Store in Mountain View, Missouri, from 1952 to 1974. He also served as the hospital pharmacist at St. Francis Hospital for numerous years. Survivors include his dear friend, Auda Richardson; one son, James DeBoard, of Chesterfield, Missouri; one daughter, Susan Ellen Price, of Mountain View, Missouri; three sisters, Mildred Dutton, of Canton, Ohio, Ola Fay Riley, of Fortuna, California, and Annabelle Brewer, of Perryville, Missouri; five grandchildren, James Paul DeBoard, Erika Christine Bojanowski, Phillip Warren DeBoard, Stephen Earl Price, and Rachel Christine Jester. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; his spouse, Doris Penninger DeBoard, and three brothers, Wayne, Weldon, and Eldon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2004, at Yarber Chapel, Mountain View, Missouri, with Dr. Wayne Wood and Pastor Frank LeBlanc officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. His family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Doris DeBoard Memorial Fund for Children's Books at the Mountain View Public Library. Mr. DeBoard had a sincere commitment to St. Francis Hospital, the health and education of young people and the development of his community.
