    Narrative Abt 1905
Mae E. Jolly had daughter Violet Jolly in 1905, likely out of wedlock. Violet is listed as "Violet Jolly" in the 1910 Montana census with her mother--her mother's marital status given as "widowed." In 1920 she as listed as Violet "Tyson," taking her step-father's name. In 1928 she was married as "Violet May Rhoads." The marriage record listed her mother as May Jolly and her father simply as "Rhoads."

I searched the surname "Rhoads" for 1900 Laclede County. It did not appear in Laclede County, but two of that spelling appeared in neighboring Camden County, in the Russell community where May's older sister Cora lived at the time of the 1900 census. Cora and her husband, Samuel A. Park had moved to Jackson County by 1910, but we don't know the exact date of their move. Was May living or staying with her sister Cora's family in the Russell community in 1904 or 1905, when she became pregnant with her daughter Violet? It seems possible. Additionally, families named Rhoades and Rhodes appeared in 1900 Laclede County.
