This is an oddly-composed household, consisting of at least 4 surnames, and probably 5. I have been unable to determine the surname of 25-year-old Salley - it looks like Mcqua, which is probably McQuay. As a result, it is impossible to determine the surname of the two children who follow her in the census, and who would be presumed to be her children. The third person who follows Salley, called Hulda, would appear to have the same surname, but is mysteriously 14, much older than the two small children. John Stull, age 21, appears with a Groves family in this same 1850 census, and in the same township. He later married Mary L. DeBoard.
