  Text	Here 'tis: 1944 Obituary: A. W. Stokes (Albert Wesley Stokes) was born in Indiana, November 1, 1854. He moved to Howell County, Mo. about 1873 and was married to Eudocia Walker on July 30, 1876. Eleven children were born to them, all having been born in Howell County, Mo., five of which preceded them in death, all having died in infancy. He moved with his family to a farm near Glencoe, Oklahoma in 1911 where he lived until he moved to the town of Glencoe in 1919, where he lived until his death September 7th, being 89 years, 10 months and 6 days old at death. He is survived by his wife, Eudocia Stokes, and six children, all boys, as follows; P. H. Stokes, Stillwater, Okla., Walter Stokes, near Glencoe, Okla., Earl Stokes, near Pawnee, Okla., Robert Stokes, near Glencoe, Okla., Fred Stokes, Elmonte, Calif., and Ernest Stokes, near Glencoe, Okla.; twenty-seven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Besides the close relative there were many others, and a great company of neighbors and old friends who will greatly miss him. Funeral services were held in the Glencoe Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. J. L. Demaree, and burial in the Glencoe South Cemetery, Sunday, September 10, 1944.
