  Text	Janis, Thanks so much for a quick and very informative reply. I'm beginning to fill in the holes in my ancestry and I guess my next hurdle will be to document the facts. From a family history compiled mostly from anecdote and personal recollection by my grandmother Lucie (nee Jahn) Reeves, Polena Thornton, married Robert Milton Reeves (b.2-28-1846, Pinewood, Hickman Co. TN, d. 3-1-1929, Pueblo, Colorado) son of Wesley Reeves and Meta Nix (nothing else known about either) in abt 1865. Robert is said by my grandmother to have had an erect, in fact, military bearing. He showed evidence of shrewdness though he was illiterate. He was something of a ne'er-do-well in character and at one time left his family and was not heard from for eighteen years. He also "left" the Army of the Confederacy, so never regained citizenship in the United States. He married twice (Polena his first) and fathered eight sons. As you mentioned, Robert and Polena had four sons: Jerome Reeves, b.1866, apparently died in early life but nothing known as to when or how. David Alexander Reeves, b.12-20-1868, my G grandfather, married Ida Viola Hoover, b. 9-16-1872, IL, in 1891 at West Plains, Missouri. Earl "Bud" Reeves, b.2-7-1873, Nashville, TN, d. 3-25-1938, Rocky Ford, Colorado Wesley Whitfield "Whit" Reeves, b. 3-4-1879, Hutton Co, Missouri, d. 1939, Elbert Co, Colorado. Married Minnie Bertrude Walker and had six sons. Robert's second wife was Sally Beard and again he fathered 4 sons: Robert, Harley, Charlie, and Joe. Of these four, only Robert had any children. I don't have a lot of info here and am pulling this from the various collections of stuff I've accumulated. I've been shuffling five or six pages to get what I've put down here. Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and get this stuff entered so I can link everything together. I'll send you more when I get things a little more organized. I've also been corresponding with a Jeanne Walker who appears to be related to Minnie Walker and thus Wesley Whitfield Reeves. She is looking for info on Thorntons and Walkers. She might have something for you. For that matter, we're probably all cousins at some level here...:-) Do you mind if I pass her your email address?
