- Clara M. Parker From the book: "The early marriage records of Giles County, Tennessee were destroyed by the Federal Soldiers during the occumpation of the Courth House during the War Between the States. Since that time many people have contributed marriage records from family records, ministers records, deed records, county court cases, chancery court cases, records from the writings of Mr. Andy Weddington, records of Jean Waldrop Smith, records of Mrs. Estelle Cosby and records from the newspaper."
