Hi Janis, Thanks so much for the generation chart that you put on the Giles Co. page. It helped me with the parents and siblings of my husband's ancestor T. T. Crowder. In case you want more information about him, his name was Terrill Tucker "Tuck" Crowder. His wife's name was Martha Doggett. She was born about 1823 in TN.Her parents were Delilah Griffis and Miller Doggett. Their children were William Woodson Crowder, Louisa J. Crowder, Martha M. Crowder, Robert M. Crowder, Mary A. Crowder, Pandora D. Crowder and Emily E. Crowder. T. T. Crowder was a Methodist preacher and was the one who gave the land to build Choates Creek Church in 1871. His desire according to the deed was to "promote the salvation of souls... in a place of divine worship." He and many of his family are buried in the Choates Creek cemetery. I haven't been able to find the date of his death anywhere. Also, I was wondering, you have him listed as being born in Alabama. My research said he was born in North Carolina. My information must be incorrect because no one else in the family seems to have been from North Carolina. Can you possibly tell me any more about Robert and Izabella Crowder and their family? I'd be very intereested in any more information that you have. Forgive me if you already had the information on T. T. Crowder that I just gave you. I thought you might be interested if you didn't. Please write soon. I'm very anxious to see if you have more information that I don't have. Thanks, Beth Mize mbmize@usit.net |
