  I believe this is likely to be Samuel Alexander Story. The age is approximatley right, as well as the birth state. The fact that his first several chidlren were born in Missouri further supports the likelihood, since Samuel A. Story was known to be living in Howell County, Missouri in 1910 (census) and as late as 1917 (WWI Draft Registration). Additionally, he states that his father was born in Illinois. Also, we know that he had a son named Robert, who lived most of his adult life in Prineville, Crook County, Oregon (testimony of my mother, Lula F. DeBoard Walker).
