Text Janis W Gilmore I'm responding to your e-mail regarding the Walker Family. To give you an idea of what we do is simple searches, by that I mean we can copy information from Birth ,Marriage ( for marriage we need both individuals names) or Death Records at the county recorders office for San Joaquin County, or get copies of obituaries from our local newspaper in Stockton, CA. I do not look up probate records, as that information is located at the superior court and can take several visits to get the information if it's available, and lots of waiting time. For those who want to go in this direction I would provide you with the address and let you acquire that information by mail. You will have to be very specific with names and dates. I understand they charge a look up fee of $7 and 50 cents per copy. I also do not look up deeds as this also is very time consuming, and without actual dates of property purchase or sale there are many volumes of records to research.

For those who want to get down and dirty, I can direct you to a middle person who can put you in contact with professional researches for our area. And if you have looked at any older Death Records at the recorders office you will understand that back in the late 1800's, there may only be one line showing very little information. And for obituaries they are almost nonexistent back in the late 1800's. It may only indicate that so and so died. No family information. With that in mind I have spent a couple of hours looking through our library and a few internet sites I can get into and a trip to Rural Cemetery and provide you with the following information: William K Walker married a Bridget Dolan on September 3, 1867 in San Joaquin County, CA Buried in Rural Cemetery, Stockton CA are: William K Walker buried November 5, 1888 age 53 Bridget Walker " April 13, 1884 age 45 William H Walker " August 3, 1902 age 34 he died single I found that most of the time the buried date is the death date back in the 1800's. I went by Rural Cemetery and tried to find their other kids but none of the them matched born years you provided from the 1880 census and died dates they had on file. I did find: George F Walker born 1870 and died April 4, 1939, he is buried at San Joaquin Cemetery which is a catholic cemetery. He married a G. Nellie Welch on October 28, 1902 in San Joaquin Co., she was born abt 1883 in California. Their children, were all born in San Joaquin County

R Melvin was born abt 1904 G Lila was born March 29, 1907 B Madeline no idea of birth date Everett Francis was born June 12, 1910 and died February 24, 1988, San Joaquin County George H was born October 26, 1912 Ralph W (could be William) was born October 18, 1915 There may be other children and you understand they may not have lived or died in San Joaquin county, after their parents died.

One of my guesses is that Robert Walker died in Sacramento County and Monty or Montgomery died in Glenn County!!!

At least I've provided you with some data. We do charge a fee for look up's as I first mention. I wouldn't be able to tell you how much it will be until you let me know what you want me to copy or obit look ups. I'll leave it up to you to let me know.

You say you're headed toward Salt Lake City. I've heard that you really have to be organized when you go to the library. We've never done research there, but I don't think we could handle it. We've been to Sutro Library and that's confusing enough.
