Also, I did not have John Moses and Icy's marriage date and very much appreciate that! Unfortunately I did not start researching the Morris family until after my step-father died :-( A question. You have Francis "Frank" Roush marrying Elizabeth SPADE but on all the census his wife is Catherine (I don't know her maiden name) although he is single in 1860 in Oregon Co., MO. Was Elizabeth's middle name Catherine or was there a second marriage? On the Morris family. No, Joseph J. Morris is not the correct family. Am pasting the 1880 census below for Jeremiah Morris who is the father of John Moses Morris. His parents are John Moses Morris and Nancy Unknown born about 1803 in North Carolina. The Morris family did not arrive in MO. until after 1892 (if the birth places on the census are correct) as Gurney/Jeremiah was born in 1892 in North Carolina. My brother told me that John Moses is a name that is carried back through the family. My brothers told me that two Morris brothers married two Roush sisters and the only one I am positive of is Icy Lorane and John Moses. Do you have another marriage between a Roush and Morris in any of your data? The second Morris-Roush marriage is not in your Howell Co. Marriages. I found your info on World Connect (Ancestry) and from there went to your website where I saw the James Morris with Icy. One more question. Have you ever discovered who the parents of Catherine Bickel/Bickle b. abt 1785 in PA were? The reason I ask is that John Michael Bickle born about 1771 in PA and Elizabeth Wetzel are my 5th great grandparents and it is fascinating to find connections. If you see any errors in what I have on the Roush family, please let me know. The Howell county ROUSH family is on my mother's side, and when I bumped into Icy's marriage record, I put her in my database, although there was no known relationship - I just figured that since she was a Howell Co ROUSH, a relationship would eventually be uncovered. Book 5 of Howell County Marriages offers: Icy ROUSH m. J.M. MORRIS on 4 April 1895. The 1880 Howell Co MO census reflects a James M. I noticed that you have a James M. Morris marrying Icy Roush. I have a John Moses Morris marrying Icy Lorane Roush in 1895. John Moses Morris and Icy Lorane Roush are my step-father's parents. Are these two separate couples? If they are the same, then the name should be John Moses not James. My Icy was born 1877 in West Plains, Howell Co., MO. and died in 1957. John Moses died 1939.
