    ""Dear Pauline,

I trust you wont be offened that I have addressed you with your given name. I am Dorothy DeBoard Rauhut and have been working for sometime on our family trees of which we both are a brandes. Carl and I have been corresponding and helped each other. He sent a great deal of material to me the other day to peruse and copy.

In the letter I noticed you said you looked at the 1880 census of Howell Co and of course Frank DeBoard was the only DeBoard listed. Has Carl told you that it was in the 1880 Soundex Census of Missour. It lists every DeBoard in Missouri and the country where they lived. Maybe Carl didnt understand that.

My grandfather, Ivy, must have come with your ígrandfather? He also arrived here at the same time. Each man had one child just a year old, born, i suppose in 1879.

Our grandparents had several several children in MO in Howell Co.

Margatret was the youngest daughter born around 1882 because they then had 4 boys. My dad was the oldest. William born 2 Feb 1883 in Howell CO. Ira was next but died at about 2 and 1/2 years of age. My uncle Caleb was born in 1889, Howell Ccco. and John Calvin, the last one in 1891. My grandfather died in 1890 so Martha was pregnant when he died.

I have written my Dads life story. It is being published at this time.

    Sincerely - Dorothy (DeBoard) Rauhut

Note - She wrote some other stuff and said that she had cancer and it was in her bones and liver and she hoped she lived till Christmas. Her daughter sent me a copy of the book, My Papa. W.I.DeBoard - A Nazarene Pioneer. She died Dec 16, 1980, one month before the book was published.

I received 2 or 3 letters from Carl DeBoard, mostly asking me questions I couldnt answer. The only information he sent to me was. "I found this in the 1850 Census.
