    Text Corra Emma DeBoard Dies

    Funeral Services for Cora Emma DeBoard was held at the Center Hill church Sunday afternoon with Rev. Readith [Retus] DeBoard officiating. Burial was made in the Center Hill cemetery under direction of Duncan Funeral home.

    She was born Dec 29, 1870 at Mountain View, MO. and departed this life Friday, May 19, 1939, age 68 years, 4 months and 20 days.

    She was left motherless when she was seven years of age and resided in this county until grown with the exception of one year at Carthage, Mo. At the age of 15 she was converted and joined the Methodist church of Center Hill where she has lived a sonsistent Christian life for 49 years.

    One September 2 1888 sshe was united in marriage to S. S. DeBoard and to this union was born 6 children. The eldest a daughter departed this life at the age of 9 years, 3 sonds, Roley of Chandler, Okla, Floyd of West Plains, Louis of the family home. Two daughters, Mrs. Bill Deston [Deaton] of Norman Oklahoma and Mrs. Bill Zumwalt of Filer, Idaho.

    "Aunt Cora" as she was known by so many of her friends has been in frail health and a silent sufferer for many years but she always sttended church and Sundy School whenever her health would permit.

    She lived a devoted Christian life and was always kind to every one and always had a kind and encouraging word for everyone.

    Like Paul, we feel that she has fought a good fight, she has finished her course, she has kept the faith, henceforth, there is laid oup for her a crown of righteousness.

    She will be greatly missed not only by her family but by her many relatives and many friends.

    Manze quartette of West Plains consisting of Leonard Manze Tom Mullins, Cliffor Mustion and Lindsay Briscoe, sang "Old Rugged Cross", Where We NEver Grow Old," Will the Circle be Unbroken" and "Precious Memories," as Aunt Cora requested.

    Pall bearers were Fred Jenkins, Larence and Jesse Vickers, Wayne and Ritchie DeBoard, and Cicil Ferguson.

    She leaves to mourn her loss her deboted husband, S.S. DeBoard, 3 sons and 3 daughters, 17 grand children, one sister, Mrs. Rouse Holden of Chapel Hill community, one brother, Adam Roush of Sikeston, and a host of friends and relatives.

    The entire community extend sympathy to the bereaved.
