    Text Grinnell Kansas March 24, 1893
    Dear Niece and nefew, I receive your letter was glad to hear from you but was sorrow to hear that you were all sick we are all well exept Mr. Burnham he is not very well. We are waiting for spring so we can go to work. Some of the farmers are disking. It has bin very dry all winter, haven had eny snow to spek of, we have got are windmille up all right and it dose good work. We got a letter from Mary Ford's out in Iowa, they are all well. We haven heard from your Uncle Will since I wrote you. We will send the rice-corn today. Plant in rows so that you can plow it but you can plant it twise as thick in the row as you do corn. 3 kernel in a hole. There is a good many people coming in this spring, are wheat is all coming up nice. We have about 55 acres now. We are to sow some oats this coming week. We have in [?] of rye, we have 300 bushels of wheat that we haven sold it is so low is 44 cents bushel, potatoes $1.00 eggs 10 cents butter 17 cents we would like to have you come out here to live are you going to the world's fair? Write soon. [upside down at top of last page] love to all A.D. Burnham. You never mind the stamps on the rice corn, don't send them.
