Dear neice. I received your letter in due time but have neglected to write for I was just crowded with work, had taken some hands to board and now they have just got through so I have a little time for myself. I was glad to hear from you, you are like your mother, got some ambition enough to find your relative at least. We are all well at this writing, have a very small family, my husband and my boy, just three of us in the family. I have bin here a most five years but not like it very well. It's to dry and windy here. I don't like a [?] country, no how but this year people have had good luck with wheat and every one is trying to put in all the ground they can. We have in 25 acres. What kind of country are you in? I [?] it [d?] as not very good from here. Say you can get land very cheap hear if you have no house there. I have bin sick some since I bin here, had a paralytic stroke which came very near finish me. I did not have the use of my limbs for as much as a year and have never fully recovered from it, but I am able to attend to housekeeping [?] in general am feeling quite well. I'd like you to tell me about your sisters and brothers. I glad your happy with your baby. I know how you feel have past through it all, it will get old after while. I will tell you about Sophis. I was to see her last winter. She has 5 children, 4 girls and a boy so is engaged with them. She has no time for anything else so you need not look for a letter from her. She hasn't written to me since I came home and I don't expect she will. I would have written sooner if I had the time. Hope you can read what I written. I so apt to make mistakes. We have a farm here, one hundred and sixty acres, horses and cows and so on. I hope to hear from you soon. I remain your aunt Adline Burnham [added upside down at top of last page] We three miles from town we are close to the railroad there is a hundred & 60 acres site north of us can be got.
