    Text Quote:
My line is George G. Story, Sr (1725 - 1800+/-), George G. Story Jr (1751 - c1820) & Susannah Elder (d c 1850), John (1790 - 1860's), George Foster (1817 - 1857) and Malinda Leech, Joseph H. *& Sarah Woods Kear. Your line diverges with Samuel Paterson Story who was GF's last child. [Irrelevant line deleted.] So, Charity Adams is your ancestress but Malinda Leech is mine. You might have more luck with Adams than I have had with Leech. Beyond Malinda, all is conjecture. I think that GF, Charity, Malinda, & Charity's first husband all grew up on farms near one another in White co IL. Yet, when Malinda d (1847) he knew that Charity was available and went to Randolph Co & m her in 1848. Her dau by first husband m GF's eldest son by Malinda. Handy having your girlfriend living in the same home with you! Beth Moore & I corresponded quite a bit years ago and much of the information you have indirectly from her came from me. Now you said you wanted to know who Samuel's brothers and sisters were. If you mean Samuel Paterson b 1856 I have a list of them all with exact birth dates but except for John A. and Samuel P. I have no descendant information. Probably because I haven't really worked on it, no doubt have some of it at least in my research notes but not integrated. At any rate, my faulty memory was half right. Doubtless GF named his child Samuel Patton as other Samuel Pattons exist in the line, but GF d when S. Paterson was a tiny infant and Charity and her children with John and wife moved to Madison Co in 1860's. She married a man named Henderlite who was much older than she. Obviously her memory was imperfect. They moved to MO and I lose track of them there. They also had some contact in AR. I am still working partly from memory and can't remember whose son Samuel Patton Story was; he was b 25 Sept 1806 and died very young and probably tragically 25 Feb 1836 as the name stayed in the family. As Patton is a family name one has to believe that Patton was a maternal name. Will get back to you later, my grandfatherly duties are calling! Jack
